SSGL is a limited company incorporated on June 22, 2017 in Tramelan, Canton of Berne, Switzerland. The company is privately owned with its administrative office situated at the Grand-rue 93. The operational site is located in Bangkok - the world capital of gemstone trading - in the Jewelry Trade Center and run by SSGL (THAILAND) CO. LTD. (a local affiliated company under control of SSGL).
Since its inception, SSGL has collected samples of rubies, sapphires and emeralds from the different mines and established a database of inclusions which now supports the conclusions delivered by the laboratory of Bangkok. The laboratory offers to test all kind of stones exception made of diamonds but the main focus is on treatment detection and origin determination for rubies, sapphires and emeralds.At the frontier between gemology and trading, the company has developed a scientific method of quality grading for rubies, sapphires and emeralds based on the three pillars of color, cutting and clarity with ultimate goal of such tool to become a reference in the pricing of the aforementioned gemstones.
The laboratory objective is to be the alternative or complement to the world most renowned gemological laboratories by offering high standard of testing based on the mastering of the microscope & gemstones inclusions and to apply nomenclature standards in the best interest of all parties - gemstones traders, jewelers and end customers - through the most reasonable compromises.

Management
Mr Pei Wang - G.G.
Mr Pei Wang is a Chinese citizen, a graduate from the Gemological Insitute of America (GIA) in London, England. He obtained his G.G. in 2006 and has worked in the gem and jewelry industry since then. With a passion for gemology and a will to take up new challenges, he founded SSGL with the help of Pablo Cattoni. As SSGL director and with the insights of his partners and his contacts in the industry, he leads the development of the laboratory and brings new ideas.
Mr Pablo Cattoni is a Swiss and Italian national who graduated A.G. (Accredited Gemologist) from AIGS in 2012. With over 100'000 stones tested with GFCO, Mr Cattoni is an experienced gemologist. He joined SSGL as one of the founding member of the company in 2017. Mr Cattoni holds a Master in Arts of Management from the University of Freiburg (Switzerland) and spent a couple of years working as trader for a bank prior to study gemology.
